The garage side door and the house back door take more weather than anything else on the building, and they are usually the last thing replaced.
A garage side door is normally on the weather side, sitting on a threshold that stays wet. Timber ones rot from the bottom rail up and the glazing goes not long after. An insulated steel door on a new frame ends that.
House back doors are the same story with a lock people actually rely on. We fit uPVC and composite back doors with multi-point locking, half glazed or solid, and make the opening good afterwards.

Can you match the side door to my new garage door?
Yes, and it is worth doing. Anthracite side door with an anthracite main door is what we fit most.
My back door has dropped and will not lock. Is that a repair?
Sometimes. Hinges and keeps can be adjusted and a lock can be changed. If the frame has moved, it is a replacement. We will tell you which.
Do garage side doors need a certificate?
A door into an unheated garage generally does not, which keeps it simple and cheap. A door into the heated part of the house does, and that one goes through building control.
