Garage doors
Four types of door, and the right one depends on your garage rather than on what we would like to sell you. Here is what each one does well, and what it does badly.
Areas we cover
Doors, roofs, cladding and repairs across Halifax and the surrounding villages.
Calderdale property is stone, exposed and often built into a bank. Garages sit under the house, cut into the hillside, or at the top of a drive that climbs. Wind-driven rain is the recurring problem — it finds the head of the opening and the edge of the roof first, which is why sealing and edge trims matter more here than they do on the flat.
Whatever the garage, the process is the same: we measure it, tell you what will and will not fit, and put a written price in front of you before anything is ordered.

Services
Four types of door, and the right one depends on your garage rather than on what we would like to sell you. Here is what each one does well, and what it does badly.
Box-profile steel over new bearers. Old felt stripped, asbestos handled properly.
The trim that makes a re-roofed garage look new instead of repaired.
Springs, cables, rollers and operators. Most are a same-visit fix.
Composite front doors, uPVC windows, and the side and back doors nobody else wants to do.
Automate the door you already have, or have a new one supplied electric.
Before and after

The old up-and-over had lost most of its paint and the flat roof had gone back to bare, rotten boards. Roof, door, fascia and side cladding were all replaced in one visit - a new box-profile roof, anthracite door and white cladding right round.

Red-stained timber side-hinged doors that had rotted along the bottom rail, replaced with an anthracite up-and-over. The pitched box-profile roof and new fascia went on at the same time.

An arched stone opening with an ageing white roller door. Fitted with an anthracite sectional door, packed and trimmed to follow the arch so the stonework was left untouched.
Questions
No. Everywhere on this list is quoted the same way and the survey is free. We will travel further across Yorkshire for the right job, and only then might there be a travel charge — which we would tell you about on the phone, not afterwards.
Repairs come before quotes, so a stuck door or an insecure garage is seen first. Ring rather than email if the door will not shut.
Yes. Garage roofs and cladding are half of what we do, and doing them at the same time as the door saves a second visit.
Send a photograph and a postcode and we will come back with a figure. If it is a repair and the door is stuck, ring instead — we prioritise those.
